Memorializing Harold's account.

Users can ask Dreamwidth to put an account into memorial status. Here's the FAQ entry on how to do it. I've submitted a request to memorialize hms42, but it's probably more convincing that the request is legitimate if multiple people submit one. I think you can also comment on my request to add your support. (Sorry, I'm now seeing that it's a private request, not visible to anyone else. There isn't any obvious way to make it public.)

That helps to guarantee that the account won't be dropped for inactivity or taken over by a nasty person. (Someone did that to Harold's account on the Filk Archive a couple of years ago.)

Strange, I did comment on it about an hour ago, referring to [Unknown site tag]'s post about Harold. Might be that they've now acted on it in some way.

The category got changed to "Account payments" and I'm not seeing any comments on my request. I don't know what they're doing.

Looking at the description, it seems your request should have been filed as "Account payments" (I think you posted it as something else), and when the person processing it switched it to the right category, I guess it was turned private.

Done. And yes, the FAQ says to use the "Account Payments" for some reason--possibly *because* requests in that category are visible only to staff, though that's a guess.
