Fast forward 2-3 minutes, and:

o/~
Particle man! Particle man!
Does everything that a particle can!
Violate parity and interact weakly!
Have no known position and yet zoom speedily!
Occasionally cross potential barriers!
Change charge and spin and start aging earlier!
Here comes Particle man!
o/~

I regret nothing.

I finally got it done and posted.

Latest lyrics are:

Why are there so many songs about COVID
And why do they fill my queue?
People are lonely, and bored, and creative
And people need something to do
Making a video's really not hideous
Getting it perfect's a plus
Someday we'll beat it, the coronavirus
The doctors, the nurses, and us

Who said that ev'ryone should stay social-distanced
When PHYSICAL space is key?
People are social and we need those connections
Or we all go crazy
Pigs, frogs, and humans start coming unglued when
Close contact is too dangerous
Someday we'll beat it, the coronavirus
The doctors, the nurses, and us

All of us singing out loud
And putting our stuff up on YouTube

Have you gone on the net, and have you heard voices?
I figure that's why you're here
Is this a parody protected as satire?
Just watch this and hold my root beer
Spirits are feeling a need for some healing
And music is miraculous
Someday we'll beat it, the coronavirus
The doctors, the nurses, and us

La da da dee da da doo
La la da da la dee da doooo

This took a lot longer for me to pull together than I'd expected/hoped, but I'm moderately pleased with the result.

I'm still not keen on the "Try keep in mind" line, but a month of thought and some workshopping have failed to produce anything I like better.

Hello everybody. I recently bought a cassette tape collection that contained some Filk music from the 1980's. I thought some of the members on here might be interested. Check out the link below to my eBay auctions...

Most of the tapes are from Off Centaur Publications. Feel free to contact me with any questions. I will be listing more soon. Cheers!

This has been lurking in the back of my mind for quite some time, and has finally emerged.

Whining ’Skeeter
Lyrics by Joel Polowin, 2018 (TTO: “Red Winged Blackbird” by David Francey)

(Chorus:)
Thought I heard a whining ’skeeter,
Whining ’skeeter in my room
Thought I heard a whining ’skeeter,
Whining ’skeeter in my room

Hatched out in some stagnant puddle
Hear that horrid high-pitched drone
Nipped in through an open doorway
I’m not safe inside my home

(Cho)

By my ear it flits and hovers
3 a.m. when I’m in bed
Bleary-eyed, I just can’t spot it
Pull the sheets up o’er my head

(Cho)

Add this toll to global warming:
Insect pests expand their range
Places once free from malaria [mal-AIR-ya]
Now may face an awful change

Thought I heard Anopheles ’skeeter
Anopheles ’skeeter in my room
Thought I heard Anopheles ’skeeter
Anopheles ’skeeter in my room

(Cho)

Comments, please?  I find the last verse somewhat heavy-handed, but I'm fond of "an awful 'skeeter" / "Anopheles 'skeeter".

It looks bad for my scheduled kick-off(!) concert at 7:00 at ConCertino. The bus I am on, which was supposed to get to South Station at 4:40, is unlikely to make it before 6 or 6:30, because of a lot of road construction and a crash.   -- Hold the presses, my seatmate says the driver is making a detour in the direction of Hartford which could save us half an hour. That would still be dicey for getting there by 7. I just can't tell. Maybe an Uber or Lyft will do it, but I just can't tell, especially since I barely know the area after 15-16 years away. I hope...

ETA: I'm probably going to take a cab directly from South Station. It'll cost, but it'll be worth it to get me there something like on time.
