filk | Note from the Filk UK mailing list

Some people aren't getting their email from the Filk UK mailing list, apparently because of ISP blocking. Naturally, these people are the hardest to notify by email. With Chris Malme's permission, I'm quoting his message to the list to boost the signal.

I am aware that some people are no longer receiving FILK_UK, due to decisions made by their mail-host. It seems possible that gmail have joined the ranks of those that assume any non-commercial mail-list is spam. I have not confirmed, as I have stopped chasing this particular issue.

This is because there is bugger all I can do about this. I do ensure that both my domains and my server IPs are not on any known blacklists - I even pay a subscription to be informed should anything occur, and they remain completely clear, as they have done for well over a year (which is as far back as my records go). This doesn't stop mail services arbitarily deciding what not to accept, based on their own prejudices.

So if you are affected, the only thing I can suggest is change your mail service.

(And yes, I know, if you can read this, then you are probably not affected. But in some cases the blocking is sporadic, and I also intend to post this elsewhere, to inform those who may be affected.)
