Filk has lost another valued member of the community, Ed Hutnik. I still have a T-shirt with his name on the back (as part of the guest list) from ConCertino 1999.
Edward G. Hutnik, 67, of New Haven died at home on August 25, 2023. He was the husband of Jeanne Wardwell.
Ed was born in Bridgeport on January 20, 1956, a son of the late Edward and Kathleen Kirner Hutnik. He was a graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School in Fairfield. Ed worked for several years at the medical school and then in the library of Yale University. He was active in local theater in Bridgeport and New Haven and participated for many years in medieval re-creation activities.
Ed was the brother of Kathleen (late Raymond) Arsenault and Joseph (Virginia) Hutnik. He was the proud uncle of Raymond Arsenault III, John Arsenault, Jacqueline Butler and Joseph Hutnik, Jr. and is also survived by 9 great nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4-7pm in the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc. 11 Wooster Place, New Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00am in St. Joseph Church 129 Edwards Street, New Haven. Please go directly to Church.
