Carla Ulbrich livestream tonight
Sep. 11th, 2020 04:22 pmHey there!
Anyone over the age of 25 remembers where they were on 9/11/01.
I was asleep. Not only I was keeping musician hours, but I was in California, sleeping on a friend's futon. I got up at noon Pacific time. My friend plopped me in front of the TV and let me try to take it all in. I watched a lot of TV that week. And probably not coincidentally, got an eye infection.
Somewhere around September 14, a pastor came on the news as part of a panel and told us to stop watching the news constantly- that it wasn't good for us to have a 24/7 diet of tragedy.
Any other year, it'd be weird to do a fun show on September 11. I'd avoid it.
Of course, I will never forget.
I also believe that part of honoring those who have fallen is for those of us still living to live our lives fully.
I don't know about you, but I need some occasional comic relief so I can make it through the week and do what needs to be done. Laughter truly is good medicine.
If you're in need of a laugh, or at least a smile, tune in tonight to the livestream and we will bring the jokes and goofy songs.
As always, 10% of everything I make goes to the ACLU, fighting for liberty and justice for all.
CALENDAR:

Free! (tips accepted)
We are back again tonight with the weekly livestream!
Fun songs, dumb jokes, a madlib (we'll do it together!) and live chat, same time every Friday night.
Last week, there was a problem with live-streaming on youtube, but I did post a replay of the show afterwards. I have a backup plan for youtube live-streaming this week- fingers crossed!
FIND THE SHOW:
http://www.facebook.com/carlaulbrich/live/
https://www.youtube.com/user/carlaulbrich/live
For the madlib, we'll need:
4 nouns
a living thing
2 names of people in the chat room
3 verbs
2 colors
1 place
2 groups of people (nurses, children, etc.)
For maximum hilarity, keep it weird with your word choices.
You can hit reply to this email and send me some words in advance, or enter them in the chat during the livestream.
Stay safe & I'll see you online.
Cheers!
